Residents and their guests may purchase and obtain a 24-hour Temporary Parking Permit online at their convenience. This online option is part of Richmond Hill's commitment to provide easy access to our services.
Note on Cell Phones and Printing Your Permit: The online purchase system may not work with all mobile devices. Also, you MUST print and display your permit on your automobile's dashboard for it to be valid.
A 24-hour Temporary Parking Permit costs $5 plus HST per licence plate and is valid from 7 a.m. until 6:59 a.m. the following day. Temporary Parking Permits may be purchased by residents and their guests to park a motor vehicle on a street overnight in the event the vehicle cannot be housed in the driveway.
In some cases, the 24-hour Temporary Parking Permit will be supplied to the resident:
- If the Town is doing construction such as installing sidewalks on your road and you can't access your driveway, then Richmond Hill will supply a 24-hour Temporary Parking Permit.
- If a developer is doing corrective work in a new subdivision where residents have moved in, then the developer must provide 24-hour Temporary Parking Permits to the residents.
- Residents who cannot park in their driveway due to driveway repair or maintenance between June and October can obtain a 24-hour Temporary Parking Permit from Richmond Hill in person at the Town's main Municipal Office. These driveway permits are for a maximum of three cars and up to five 24-hour permits per calendar year per household. Note: a separate permit is required for each vehicle parked on the road.

24-hour Temporary Parking Permits can also be purchased in person at Richmond Hill's main Municipal Offices (225 East Beaver Creek Road, 3rd floor, Parking Control) during regular business hours, Monday through Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Please note that applicants must present proof of address.
Enter the address that you or your guest will be visiting; ensure that the street name and number is correct.
Enter required vehicle information, confirm that the application meets the requirements for obtaining a permit, and acknowledge the conditions for use of the 24-hour Temporary Parking Permit.
To finalize the application, enter your credit card information (VISA, Master Card,) and confirm that the information you provided is correct. Please complete the fields marked by (*) and select Process Transaction
Upon payment, a permit will be issued along with a receipt. Print the permit and follow the instructions for displaying it on your vehicle's dashboard. Please note, if you have any problem printing the permit, your only option is to reprint the permit in accordance with the reprint instructions.
An acknowledgement of purchase will be mailed to the residential address provided.
Please note: Permits are valid from 7 a.m. to 6:59 a.m. the following day. If you need to purchase a 24-hour Temporary Permit after midnight to remain parked on the road that night, you must order a permit for the previous day's date. E.g. at 1 a.m. the morning of April 10, you would purchase a temporary permit for April 9 to be permitted to remain parked on the road until 6:59 a.m. on April 10.
