Richmond Hill Continues to Expand its Dog License Retailers
Council approved an expanded list of 10 dog license retailers in Richmond Hill to further reach out to residents who are dog-owners. The By-law requires that Richmond Hill residents annually license and vaccinate their dogs against rabies. Licensing your dog could even play a crucial role in identifying your pet should it become lost or injured while not in your care; the number on the license tag can assist someone in returning a lost dog or obtaining aid for injured dogs quicker. In encouraging residents to obtain licenses for their dogs, the Town also attempts to insure that all dogs have been given their rabies shots, which means a healthier and safer environment for residents and their pets. In order to make it as convenient as possible and encourage every dog owner to license their pet, the Town is continually adding new license vendors, including pet shops and animal clinics. Application forms may be obtained at the Town’s offices and on the Town’s Website. For more information, contact Graham Stackhouse, Licensing Coordinator, at (905) 771-8840 (from Committee of the Whole Meeting held on Monday, February 6, 2006, Staff Report SRPD.06.016, Agenda Item No. 6).
The next Committee of the Whole meeting is scheduled for Monday, February 20, 2006 at 4:30 p.m. and the next Council Meeting is Monday, February 27, 2006 at 7:30 p.m. Both meetings will be held in Council Chambers.
