2008 Budget Highlights The Town’s 2008 Budget includes operating expenditures of $107.7 million and capital expenditures of $27.8 million. Some major budget highlights include:
- Opening of the Richmond Hill Centre for the Performing Arts
- Opening of the fully accessible Crosby Park
- Opening the Access Richmond Hill contact centre
- Approving the design of Oak Ridges Community Centre and Park
- Expanding the successful GoingGREEN organics collection program to apartments and condos
- Increasing the amount of the Seniors’ Tax Assistance Grant to $265
- Purchasing four traffic calming mobile message boards for use in neighbourhoods
- Initiating a Town municipal offices relocation feasibility study
- Completing the children’s department expansion at Central Library
- Rehabilitating Pioneer Park stormwater pond
- Restoring the Lake Wilcox shoreline
- Approving the Strategic Plan and complete background work for a new Official Plan
- Operating the lead testing program for residential and business water analysis
