Waste Management Collection Overview
The following is an overview of the waste management services and procedures provided by the Town of Richmond Hill for many apartment buildings (excluding those that are now participating in the GoingUp program). Please contact the Superintendent or building owner to confirm that the Town of Richmond Hill services your building before requesting additional services.
Waste Collection
Collection is done on Tuesday only. Extra collections can be arranged directly with Miller Waste Systems at the building’s expense. All front-end waste containers must be provided and maintained by the building at their cost.
Oversized Waste Collection
Material such as furniture and mattresses that cannot fit into normal waste containers, can be scheduled for free collection. Collection will only be made from the waste collection pad of the building and must be scheduled in advance. Please speak with the Superintendent or Building Management to arrange collection. Specific collection days vary building-to-building for this type of material.
Corrugated Cardboard Collection
Cardboard is collected on Thursdays. The Town of Richmond Hill provides cardboard containers for free, and there is no cost for collection.
Recycling Collection
Recycling is collected using wheeled carts or front-end containers depending on the building. All recyclable materials can be mixed together in one container (except for corrugated cardboard). Place items loose into the bins, do not leave recyclable materials in plastic grocery bags.
Appliance Collection
Free monthly collection of fridges, stoves, washers etc., from your garbage collection pad. Please speak with the superintendent or management to arrange a pick up. Collection dates will vary building-to-building.
