Fire Station #8-6 - 101 Gamble Road

Fire Station 8-6 front view
Nearest Intersection: Gamble Road and Lacewood Drive

Officially opened on October 20, 2012, Station 8-6 is Richmond Hill’s newest and most environmentally-friendly fire station. Built to LEED silver specifications, the station’s roof has been constructed to collect both municipal water and “grey” (recycled and reused) water for washing trucks. This facility is equipped with a back-up generator that can power 100% of the building in the event of a power failure.

Home to 20 suppression personnel (firefighters) who work on four separate crews, Station 8-6 houses a kitchen and lounge, exercise facilities for firefighters as well as dorm areas. It is also a single floor design to reduce response times upon receiving a call.

Firefighters at Station 8-6 respond to all types of emergency calls, but are also specially trained in hazardous materials (HAZMAT), and water and ice rescues.
