At this year’s Forum, the Town’s Small Business Enterprise Centre (SBEC) will honour Mayor Bell’s years of service and support of small business and entrepreneurship. To commemorate Mayor Bell’s contribution, the SBEC has selected one young entrepreneur from their youth programs to be presented with the award. The winner will be selected based on either company performance or personal accomplishment as it relates to risk-taking, entrepreneurship and contribution to the Richmond Hill community.
The Forum will begin in the morning with Wisdom Exchange sessions where small groups of entrepreneurs will share best practices, examine specific business issues and generate ideas. Mayor Bell will then address the Forum and present the award. The luncheon will be followed by a keynote panel presentation where Bob Davies (Davies Harley-Davidson), Michael Hyatt (BlueCat Networks), Maureen Koziel (Northern Alarm Protection) and Sudy Shen (Masstech Group Inc.) will share secrets of their successes. The day will end with an inspiring, interactive networking presentation by expert Jacquie Hermans.
The Richmond Hill Office of Economic Development estimates that there are more than 4,000 small to medium sized business operating in Richmond Hill. The Business Forum & Showcase is a way for owners to come together to showcase their products and services and connect with their fellow peers.
