WHAT? & WHEN?

Will be participating in two special budget public consultation meetings hosted by Mayor Dave Barrow and Members of Council:
“Business Leaders Budget Breakfast” – Tuesday, January 13, 2009 from 8-9 a.m. (light breakfast and registration to begin at 7:30 a.m.)
“Budget Public Consultation Meeting” – Wednesday, January 14, 2009 at 7 p.m.

Both meetings are in Council Chambers at the Main Municipal Offices (225 East Beaver Creek Road, 1st Floor)

WHY?
|
The Town is holding two public meetings to provide both residents and businesses with a direct opportunity to let Council know which services they value most and learn about how their tax dollars are spent. Both meetings will begin with a brief presentation explaining the Town’s current service costs by the Budget Chair, Councillor Arnie Warner, followed by a brief presentation by Mayor Dave Barrow on what projects to expect for 2009 and conclude with an outline of the financial pressures the Town will be facing and how it will deal with them by the Town's Acting Treasurer, David Dexter. Attendees will then have the opportunity to address Council with their ideas and questions, which will be moderated by the Budget Chair.
For both meetings the Town asks that attendees pre-register by either contacting the Office of the Clerk at (905) 771-8800 to sign up as a delegation for the “Budget Public Consultation Meeting” or Mary Wong at (905) 771-2523 or by e-mail at ecdev@richmondhill.ca for the “Business Leaders Budget Breakfast.”
