WHY?
For the past 18 years, the Town’s Urban Forestry employees have been educating students about the environmental benefits of trees during a week-long celebration. Town staff are visiting 17 local schools this year, helping them plant trees in the schoolyards to benefit current and future generations of students. Trees reduce carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases in the atmosphere, so planting even one tree can significantly improve the environment. For more on the Town’s commitment to tree care and protection, visit www.richmondhill.ca/trees.
