As the lucky draw winner, Ms. D’Souza will be handed the keys to her new 2009 Lexus IS 250 RWD Auto, Suffix “A” (generously donated by Lexus of Richmond Hill) by Serge Sotoadeh from Lexus of Richmond Hill. They will be joined by Town of Richmond Hill Mayor Dave Barrow, Members of Council, Richmond Hill Centre for the Performing Arts staff, Arts Richmond Hill committee members and York Regional Police Chief La Barge.
The car was raffled off as part of the fundraising efforts for the Super Grand Gala “For the Love of the Arts” which took place on April 17, 2009 at Le Parc Conference and Banquet Centre. The event raised over $200,000 which will go towards programming at the new Richmond Hill Centre for the Performing Arts.
Interestingly, Ms. D’Souza is an Auxiliary Police Officer with the York Regional Police Diversity Unit. Ms. D’Souza was also honoured as one of Canada’s Top 100 Most Powerful Women for 2008 and was recently nominated for two York Region Character Awards held on April 28.
