The firefighters read fire safety stories and share holiday survival fire safety tips with several classes of grade one students at seven different Richmond Hill schools this holiday season. This is an opportunity for students to learn about common fire hazards that occur during the holiday season. This is one of many initiatives the Fire Department takes part in throughout the year to teach children the basics of fire safety. Others include their annual Open House in October and reading to students earlier this year in January for “Family Literacy Day.”
