CAO Recognized with Service Award
Mayor Dave Barrow announced that Richmond Hill’s Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), Joan Anderton, was recently recognized by the Canadian Association of Municipal Administrators (CAMA) with a Long Service Recognition Award for her 20 years of municipal service in a senior management capacity. This is the first year that CAMA has presented the Long Service Recognition Awards honouring municipal administrators from across Canada for their dedication to public service and municipal management. As Richmond Hill’s CAO, Joan oversees a staff of more than 600 full-time and 1,500 part-time employees and an operating budget of more than $135 million. OSPCA to Continue Providing Animal Services in Richmond Hill
Council awarded the Ontario Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (OSPCA) with a one year contract extension for the provision of animal control and shelter services in the Town of Richmond Hill. The contract runs from June 8, 2012 to June 7, 2013 and includes two optional one year terms. Over the next year, the Town will investigate options for the provision of animal services. The next Committee of the Whole meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, June 19 at 4:30 p.m. and the next Council meeting is Monday, June 25 at 7:30 p.m. Both meetings will be held in Council Chambers.
