The Richmond Hill Regional Centre Design and Land Use Study is being undertaken as an area specific background study to the new Official Plan to guide future development in the Richmond Hill Regional Centre area. The study is intended to establish a long-term vision and strategic direction to facilitate the growth of the Regional Centre as an inter-modal transit hub and Urban Growth Centre as designated by the Provincial Growth Plan legislation for the Greater Golden Horseshoe. The study will be a collaborative engineering, planning and design exercise to articulate and develop a new forward-looking vision and complementary design and land use policies for the development of the Richmond Hill Centre area as an inter-modal anchor hub, where different forms of transit come together including VIVA, York Region Transit, GO Transit, a future extension of the Yonge Subway Line and the 407ETR Transitway.
