In celebration of Earth Day (April 22), more than 200 students joined Mayor Dave Barrow, Members of Council, staff from the Parks, Recreation & Culture Department, representatives from the Town’s Earth Day project partners, Evergreen and local residents, to plant trees at Newberry Park. The trees will help restore a newly created wetland in the Rouge Watershed, provide a sanctuary for birds and wetland species and create an area for hiking and other nature-related activities.
Also on-hand was CTV Weather Anchor, Tom Brown who aired live on CTV News at noon, straight from Newberry Park.
