The following road, sidewalk and water-related maintenance projects are currently ongoing in Richmond Hill:
Sidewalk Leveling - May 7 to 31, 2013 Sidewalk leveling is ongoing at various locations in the areas of Hwy 7 to 16th Avenue and Bayview Avenue to Hwy 404 within the Town of Richmond Hill.
Spring Street Sweeping - April 29 to May 24 Sweeping and flushing of all streets in Richmond Hill begins on April 29 and contingent on weather conditions, we anticipate completion by May 24. During this time, please refrain from parking on any street within the Town from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday to Friday.
New Subdivisions Street sweeping and flushing within areas where construction activities are still active will be scheduled and coordinated by the developers and not by the Town of Richmond Hill.
Yonge Street Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation - Construction complete & clean up underway The Regional Municipality of York (York Region) has completed essential improvements to the sanitary sewers and along Yonge Street, between Worthington Avenue and King Road.
Now that this vital infrastructure has been fully rehabilitated, the Region will being the process of removing the construction materials and equipment and restoring the area to a condition equal to, or better than it was before construction operations began. Over the next two to three weeks, the pumps and bypass pipe used to pump flows around the works will be switched off, dismantled, removed from site and a new roof will be placed on the large manhole at North Lake Road. Where the bypass pipe was buried beneath the roadway, the road and driveways will be repaired. The entire curbside lane on Yonge Street from Worthington Avenue to North Lake Road, roadway and driveway crossings will be resurfaced and the road markings will be returned to their previous configuration. Finally the sidewalks and boulevards will be repaired and new replacement plants and shrubs will be provided to replace any that were damaged during construction.
