Greg Beros was first elected as Councillor in 2006 and has been actively contributing to the community for many years. Prior to being a Councillor, Greg was active in the family business.His service to the community includes volunteering with the Oak Ridges Lions Club where he became club President and later, Zone Chairman overseeing eight clubs in the area. During that time, Greg was also active in local baseball and hockey associations. As a Councillor, Greg has sat on a number of committees and chaired the Oak Ridges Community Centre and Park steering committee. Greg attends Richmond Hill Community Church, which is part of the Salvation Army. For the past 6 years Greg has served as the Chairman for the Christmas Kettle Campaign raising over $150,000 to help those less fortunate in the community.He is a guest lecturer for the Ontario Traffic Council at the Ontario Police College and frequently speaks to schools and community groups about government and community. Greg is also a Civilian Instructor with the Royal Canadian Air Cadets. He has been recognized for his community work by various organizations and in 2012 was awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal for outstanding service to Canada.
Greg has lived in Richmond Hill for more than 40 years and currently resides in the Oak Ridges area with his wife, Heather, and their two children.
