As part of the Town's continued commitment to enhancing openness and accountability in Richmond Hill, Council unanimously adopted a Code of Conduct on March 8, 2010.
The Council Code of Conduct provides guidance on issues related to the acceptance of gifts and benefits, confidential information, Council staff relations and the use of municipal property.
On September 28, 2010, Council appointed David Tsubouchi as the Town’s new Integrity Commissioner and his contract runs until October 31, 2013.
The Integrity Commissioner’s duties include providing impartial, third party, professional advice to Council and responding to any compliance issues and matters relating to their ethical responsibilities and obligations under the Code, as well as educating and advising the community of the same.
The Council Code of Conduct came into effect on Monday, November 1, 2010 and was last amended on November 12, 2012.
