What is Community Building?
"A field of practices directed toward the creation or enhancement of community among individuals within a regional are neighbourhood) with a common interest. It is sometimes encompassed under the field of community development.”
Purpose/Goal of Community Building and Development
The goal of community building and development is to increase participation by residents in programs, workshops, etc., which leads to higher levels of community awareness. By involving a number of organizations in the community, your message can be transmitted through to many more people; leading to a stronger and more connected community.
