Pay parking at Lake Wilcox Park is in effect from April 1 to September 30 each year.
Free parking permits are available for Richmond Hill residents starting March 1 for the current year (residents must obtain a new free permit annually). These permits are linked to a license plate number and residents can obtain one permit per household. Carpooling is strongly encouraged.

Overnight street parking from December 1 to March 31 - $75 fine |
There is no parking on any street between 1 a.m. and 7 a.m. from December 1 to March 31. Parking during these times will result in a $75 fine. There are signs at all border entry points to let you know about the parking restrictions. |
Overnight street parking from April 1 to November 30 - $50 fine |
There is no parking on any street between 3 a.m. and 6 a.m. from April 1 to November 30. Parking during these times will result in a $50 fine. Signs are posted at border entry points to let you know about the parking restrictions. |
Parking during a declared Winter Event, or so as to interfere with Winter Operations - $100 fine |
Vehicles parked on any street during a Winter Event, or so as to interfere with Winter Operations may be towed. There is a $100 fine for drivers who don't move their cars off the street during snow removal. There are signs at all border entry points to let you know about the parking restrictions. |
Accessible parking spaces - $350 fine |
There is a fine of $350 for using an accessible parking space without the appropriate permit. This regulation follows the Ontarians with Disabilities Act. |
Too close to fire hydrant - $100 fine |
It is the law to park at least 3 metres away from all fire hydrants. There is a fine of $100 for parking closer than 3 metres to a fire hydrant anywhere. |
Park in a fire route - $200 fine |
There is a fine of $200 for parking in a fire route. These routes are clearly marked with signs. |
Parking more than 3 hours - $30 fine |
There is a fine of $30 for parking on any street for more than 3 hours between the hours of 6 a.m. and 5 p.m. (but be aware of our seasonal overnight parking rules). There are signs at all border entry points to let you know about these parking restrictions. You can buy a temporary parking permit to park for more than 3 hours or overnight on a Richmond Hill street. |
Parking on boulevards - $40 fine |
Parking is prohibited on any boulevard, which is the area between the travelled roadway and a property line. A boulevard does not include the apron of a driveway (the front of your driveway beginning from the road). There is a fine of $40 for parking on boulevards. |
Prohibited areas - $40 - $50 fine |
There are signs to show areas where there is no parking allowed anytime or no stopping allowed anytime. There is a $40 - $50 fine for drivers who park in any of these areas. |
Obstructing a sidewalk - $50 fine |
Vehicles can't obstruct the use of sidewalks in anyway. There is a $50 fine if any portion of your vehicle overhangs the sidewalk. |
Park within 30cm of curb - $40 fine |
When parking on any street, your vehicle must be parallel to the curb or boundary of the street, and not more than 30cm (12 inches) from that curb/boundary. There is a $40 fine for this infraction. |
Park on Municipal property where not authorized - $40 fine |
When parking on Municipal property, your vehicle must be within a designated parking space. |
