More in this Section...

Richmond Hill residents and guests can buy a temporary parking permit online at any time (registration and login required).

Buy temporary parking permit

You can also buy a temporary parking permit in-person (with proof of your address) from Parking Control (Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.) at:

225 East Beaver Creek Road, 3rd floor
Richmond Hill, ON L4B 3P4

Cost

A temporary parking permit costs $5 plus HST. This single permit covers parking from 12 a.m. midnight to 11:59 p.m. on the date for which it is purchased.

Terms and conditions

Be aware of the following terms and conditions when you use a temporary parking permit:

  • Permits must be properly displayed in your vehicle, on the dash in plain view
  • Permits excuse parking time limits only. All other parking rules still apply
  • Do not park on a side of the street next to even-numbered addresses
  • A permit is valid from 12 a.m. midnight to 11:59 p.m. on the date for which it is purchased
  • Permits are non-refundable and can't be transferred to another vehicle
  • Permits become null and void when there are snow removal operations. Alternative parking during snow removal will be available in some parking lots on a first-come, first-serve basis
  • You can't park in the same place for more than 25 days straight, even with a permit
  • There is a 25-permit maximum per address, per year
  • Parking permits can be cancelled or taken away to ensure public safety, when the permit was purchased using false information or when the vehicle has an expired validation sticker
  • Permits can be issued for motor vehicles, motorcycles, scooters, vans, panel trucks, pick-up trucks or taxicabs as long as it is a household's main form of transportation
  • Permits can only be issued for vehicles 5.2 m in length or less, with a gross weight of 3,000 kg or less
  • Permits will not be issued for campers, camper-trailers, recreational vehicles, motor homes, trailers, boats or other vehicles mounted on trailers
