Richmond Hill Blooms is a program designed to encourage residents to play a role in beautifying our community by creating attractive, colourful and well-maintained front gardens.
This year, as part of Richmond Hill’s 150th birthday celebrations, the City’s gardens will be blooming with some of our RH150 colours – purple, yellow/gold and orange. We encourage everyone to celebrate with us by incorporating these colours into your own front garden designs.
In lieu of an annual end of season key note speaker event, the City is hosting its first Summer's End Garden Social on Saturday, September 9 from
1 to 4 p.m. at Richmond Green Park (in the picnic shelter area), 1300 Elgin Mills Road East. Drop in to this booth-style interactive event for the opportunity to:
At the event, the City will also be giving away free wildflower seedlings (while supplies last). If you would like a free wildflower seedling, you must register at the link below. Seedlings can be picked up at the event on Saturday, September 9.

Residents are invited to nominate their favourite Richmond Hill front gardens for recognition. You can nominate your friends, family, neighbours or even your own front garden.
Everyone is welcome and encouraged to participate. Garden designs can be anything from a lush, green oasis to a vivid array of colours and scents to a pollinator’s paradise. All nominated properties will receive a recognition sign to proudly display in the front garden.
This year, the judging portion of the front garden recognition program has been discontinued. Instead, the program is going back to its roots and will focus on encouraging a higher level of participation across the community.
The 2023 nomination period is now over. Thanks to everyone who participated.
