COVID-19 Update: Please note that the Heritage Centre is currently closed for renovations. Visit RichmondHill.ca/RecGuide for current program offerings. 

We are continuing to offer heritage and cultural programming while the Heritage Centre is closed. 

You can register for walking tours, hikes, the Wayback Wednesdays presentations and virtual programs. Information and registration for all programs can be found at RichmondHill.ca/CommunityRecreationGuide. 

Walking Tours and virtual presentations are available for community groups and schools. Contact us by email to book your group. 

The Richmond Hill Heritage Centre preserves and celebrates our community heritage. The building is an 1840s Regency style cottage, fully restored to reflect this historical period. It is located in the beautiful Amos Wright Park at:

Richmond Hill, ON L4C 3E6

The Richmond Hill Heritage Centre's regular gallery hours are:

  • Tuesdays, 1 - 4 p.m.
  • Thursdays, 4 - 8 p.m.
  • Saturdays, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Explore Exhibits showcasing the history of Richmond Hill, including a collection of historically significant artifacts from the early 19th century to the present.

Online Artifact Collection

View over 10,000 artifact images through our online database.  An ideal resource for students, researchers and history enthusiasts. 

Programs

The Heritage Centre hosts a variety of programs to offer you. Learn more by visiting our Heritage Programs webpage or select from the following programs listed below:

  • Winter Break and March Break camps
  • Summer camps
  • Curriculum-based programs for schools and community groups

Upcoming Events

The health and safety of our residents, program participants, visitors and staff is a top priority. All Heritage Centre events that were scheduled for April and May have been cancelled or postponed. Check back for updates.

Rentals

You can rent the Heritage Centre with our Facility rentals form.

Heritage Centre Advisory Committee

Decisions related to Richmond Hill's Heritage Centre are reviewed by the Heritage Centre Advisory Committee. The Committee is part of the Community Services Department and gives advice and makes recommendations about the following topics:

  • Short and long-term planning
  • Programs and services
  • Marketing and fundraising
  • Facility development
  • Management of the Heritage Collection
