Financial Statements

Every candidate (including a candidate who withdrew his or her nomination) and every registered third-party advertiser is required to file a campaign financial statement.

Pursuant to the Municipal Elections Act, 1996 Section 88 (9.1), the Clerk is required to publish the financial statements filed by candidates in electronic format. Each financial statement is available in its entirety as a PDF by clicking on the candidate's name below.

Because the financial statements are prepared in hard copy by election candidates and cannot be modified by City staff, the scanned documents attached below are not accessible for use with assistive technology. Should you require any assistance, please contact clerks@richmondhill.ca.

In cases where candidates complied with Section 88.23(9) of the Municipal Elections Act, 1996 by filing a late submission within 30 days of the deadline and paying a late filing fee of $500, a cessation of penalty notice is appended to the notice of default. Any notices issued can be viewed by clicking on the name of the candidate below.

Candidates or registered third party advertisers who filed a Form 6 to extend their campaign must also file a supplementary campaign financial statement by 2 p.m. on July 5, 2021.

30-day Grace Period

A candidate or registered third party advertisers who misses the filing deadline can submit their statement up to 30 days later, provided they also pay the $500 late filing fee required by the Municipal Elections Act.

Changes to a Financial Statement

Candidates and registered third party advertisers who submit a financial statement and later identify an error may withdraw their original statement and submit a new one by 2 p.m. on the filing deadline date (January 4, 2021 or July 5, 2021 for supplementary financial statements). Only corrected campaign financial statements will be posted to the website.
