On July 8, 2020, Richmond Hill Council passed By-law 100-20, authorizing the use of internet voting for the 2020 By-election.
All voting in this By-election will be done using an online platform. Two Voter Assistance Centres will be set up, one at the Richmond Hill Centre for the Performing Arts and the other at the Oak Ridges Community Centre for voters who are qualified to vote but do not have internet access or require assistance to vote.
Detailed information, including how to cast your vote using the online platform and hours of the Voter Assistance Centres, will be posted to our website as soon as it becomes available.
This is the last day to submit a nomination to run in the 2020 By-election. Detailed information about submitting a nomination can be found on the Candidate Information page.
Continuous internet voting will become available on Wednesday, October 14, 2020. Monday, October 19, 2020, Voting Day, will be the last day of continuous internet voting, closing at 8 p.m.
The results will be certified on or before October 21, 2020, and notice given to the York Region District School Board.
