Richmond Hill’s RH Concierge program provides business owners, developers, and investors with a formal service to help facilitate the development application process through the convenience of a single point of contact.
Program Description
- Focusing on sizeable office and industrial development, RH Concierge uses a coordinated inter-departmental approach led by Economic Development staff in partnership with Development Planning staff in the Planning and Regulatory Services department. Its goal is to reduce the amount of time needed for development applications to be approved by prioritizing eligible projects. RH Concierge also works in conjunction with the City’s Community Improvement Plan.
Eligibility Criteria
- Office or industrial development (i.e. non-residential, non-retail, non-institutional except for University or College campuses).
- Must be a new development or a large addition to an existing property.
- Large additions are considered to be greater than or equal to 50% of the current Gross Floor Area (GFA).
- Development must be a minimum size of 10,000 square feet (approximately 929 square metres).
- Development must create at least 35 full-time jobs (based on estimates of 1 employee per 25 square meters of office space).
- Development should be located in Richmond Hill business parks, centres or corridors. Developments in other areas of the City may also be considered provided that all other criteria are met.
- Acceptance into the RH Concierge program is at the sole discretion of an Eligibility Review Team. Those projects that do not meet the eligibility criteria and/or are not accepted into the program are still very important to the City. Such developments will receive excellent client support from each respective department outside of the RH Concierge program.
