Boynton House is an art exhibition space in Richmond Hill with four display rooms. These rooms have art hanging systems and track lighting, making them an ideal place to display your work for an art show, host a special occasion or book meetings. Emerging Directions - Featuring ceramic artists from Hill Potters’ Guild
Emerging Directions showcases the culmination of a year-long mentorship led by master potter Angelo di Petta, guiding ten mid-career potters as they explore new techniques, conceptual approaches, and artistic directions. See an exciting collection of ceramic artwork addressing a variety of topics including celebrating everyday victories, ocean waves, rebuilding after loss, cultural identity, bird forms, wetlands, decay, flowers and circular forms.

This exhibition presents curatorial learning and international exchange through university Student practice at the University of Illinois Urbana-champaign, United States, School of art and Design. University, the University of Chicago, and diaspora Arts communities in Canada.
About Boynton House
Boynton House is an historic site under the Ontario Heritage Act and dates back to about 1875. It is an example of the classic Ontario farmhouse. Its unique features include:
Proposals should include community participation in art, culture and heritage activities. We will review, approve and arrange final scheduling. We will let you know about the status of your application.
The Boynton House is available to rent for art and culture activations. Examples of programming may include:
Individual and group art exhibitions or sales
Artifact or historic displays
Craft shows or sales
Cultural heritage displays
Outdoor art-in-the garden exhibitions or sales
Outdoor receptions to compliment indoor programming
Permit holders are to consider the audience of the exhibition space. As Boynton House is open to the public during your permit, the City reserves the right to exclude work that may be deemed offensive or inappropriate.
Individual applicants must be 18 years of age or older. Group applicants must choose an individual who is at least 18 years old to take responsibility for the rental and any contracts signed for the event.

The Boynton House has the following rooms available:
Program Room (30 ft by 15.5 ft)
Front West room (14 ft by 14 ft), for displays only
Front East room (14 ft by 14 ft), for displays only
Back West room (9 ft by 10 ft), for displays only
Maximum Program Room capacity of 60 people with chairs only, 48 people with tables and chairs.

Permit holders can request stackable chairs and collapsible tables to be used throughout the duration of their permit.
Hanging System
Please be aware that only the hanging system provided at the Boynton House Art Exhibition space is the ONLY method which permit holders are permitted to use to hang/install art on the walls. Permit holders are NOT permitted to use thumbtacks, push pins, nails, screws, etc. to adhere artwork of any kind to the walls. Additional display methods can be used, such as standing easels, tabletop easels, rack displays, etc., which can be provided by the permit holder for use during their permit.
Receptions
Permit holders can host their own reception during their rental at the Boynton House, within operating hours. Special Occasion Permits are not available at the Boynton House and surrounding grounds, and alcohol is not permitted on site. The Municipal Alcohol Policy outlines the details.
Security and insurance
Please note that the House is not staffed, therefore you will need someone from your group onsite during your open hours.
City staff will open and close the House 10 - 15 minutes prior to and after your load in/out timeslots and show times. Facilities staff at Richmond Green are responsible for all ongoings at the park, assistance response times at Boynton House may vary, we appreciate your understanding.
The City of Richmond Hill may require additional insurance to be provided by the permit holder.
Permit holders are expected to follow Richmond Hill's Terms and Conditions of Use for the facility. They must also follow the mandatory Health and Safety and Richmond Hill By-law requirements.
Hours of operation
Permit holders can operate the space between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. during the duration of their rental permit.
