There are some community groups in Richmond Hill that are part of the Character Community Initiative. These groups do their best to demonstrate and encourage good character. This project is just one of the ways we support and encourage community development.
Character Community groups have a number of goals that focus on people, their behaviours and attitudes. These groups build team commitment and encourage everyone to work together to identify good character traits that are most important to their organization. They also raise awareness about the importance of good character.
Meeting the expectations of the Character Community Initiative, community groups can receive the following benefits:
Your community group can become part of the Character Community Initiative for free. Your group must agree to consider and support the character attributes chosen by the Character Community Council of York Region in everything they do, including all programs and events.
