Summer Programs

This summer we are offering two, four-week sessions of programs for all ages to keep you and your family active, engage your imaginations, and bring out your creativity at home. For a list of activities you can do at home visit

Virtual Recreation Programs 

Our innovative online curriculum will engage your creativity, keep you active and help you develop new skills in the comfort of your own home. Supply lists will be emailed to participants a week prior to the start of the program, if necessary. A link to the virtual program will be provided to participants in a separate email prior to the start of the course. Browse our full virtual program list or search by category.

Beach Volleyball - Children and Teens

P.A.R.K.  Adventure Program The P.A.R.K program ( Park, Adventure, Recreation for Kids) is an opportunity for children to enjoy outdoor activities. The program may include a variety of activities such as arts, crafts, games, sports, and exploring nature during this hour and a half outdoor session.

Discovery in the Park Program for 3-7 year olds and their parents or caregivers.  The program will include a variety of outdoor activities at the Heritage Centre. 

Walk and Learn Enjoy fresh air, exercise and a healthy physically distanced walk through a historic neighbourhood and discover your community heritage! The tour takes place rain or shine. COVID protocols will be in place.

Drop In Sports 

Drop in sports start Monday, July 26 at Bayview Hill Community Centre and Langstaff Community Centre. 


Aquatic Leadership

Richmond Hill has a number of opportunities for young adults to take part in lifesaving and leadership programs starting this summer. Visit for more information.

Leisure and Lane Swim 

Leisure and Lane Swimming starts Monday, July 26. Pre-registration is required. Visit for schedules and to register.

What is ActiveRH?

ActiveRH is Richmond Hill’s online registration system that makes it easier for you to search, register and pay for Recreation and Culture programs and memberships from any computer, tablet or mobile device. This allows you to register, make payments, and manage your profile at your convenience.

Can more than one person have access to my family account?

Yes. Up to two parents can create personal accounts and link them to the family account.

What if I don’t have an email address?

An email address is required to create or access your account on ActiveRH. Your online account provides better access to registration, membership and facility booking services, including convenient registration, detailed account history information and much more.  If you are unable to provide an email address, you are able to register at the front desk instead of online.

There are two ways to get started, if you've never registered for a Richmond Hill program before. You can use our online registration system to create an account with us.

Already registered?

Once you've registered for a program you need to fill out a Medical Condition Form for yourself or a registered child. You can also transfer to another program or cancel your registration, if you need to.

Some of our programs and activities are affected by extreme weather conditions. Call the Inclement Weather Hotline at 905-771-5487 and listen to the 24-hour recorded message to hear information about facility closures and program cancellations.

Advertising in the Community Recreation Guide

You can advertise your educational, recreational service or product to the entire Richmond Hill community through our two issues of the Community Recreation Guide that publish every year. Every household in the community gets a copy of the Guide. Advertising opportunities are also available in the Winter Break/March Break Guide as well as the Summer Camp Guide. These publications are distributed at all Richmond Hill Community Centre locations.
