Today’s Richmond Hill is a city of 10 historic hamlets, some hidden and some long forgotten. These early communities sprung up at crossroads, especially along Yonge Street, to meet the needs of the farmers, offering for sawmills and gristmills, blacksmiths, farriers, coopers schools and general stores. This exhibit gives us a look at these communities, which would eventually become part of the City of Richmond Hill. |
