55+ Drop-In Program Etiquette |
There has been an increase in Older Adult participation especially at drop-in programs. We would appreciate your understanding and cooperation on a few things moving forward:
- Program sign-in at the front reception desk begins 15 minutes prior to the drop-in time.
- All persons participating in the program are to be present in the line (no items such as bags, racquets or membership cards to represent people).
- Each member must sign themselves in by writing their name and membership number clearly on the paper sign in sheet (you cannot sign in for other people).
- Participants must have a valid 55+ membership which is to be scanned at reception when checking in.
- Members must pay the drop-in fee at the front reception desk to gain entry into the session.
- Guests 55+ are welcome for a fee of $5 and must also sign in.
- Admittance is on a first come, first serve basis and is subject to capacity limitations.
- All schedules and locations are subject to change.
- Please understand that you may enter your program no more than 5 minutes prior to your program. This includes putting your belongings in the room prior to the program start time.
- Please no running into the program space. This is not only a safety concern but ideally, those who signed in first should gain access to the program room space first. Please do not run past those who have already signed in to be first into the program space.
During Play
- You are not allowed to hold a spot for someone.
- You may not be able to play with your regular friends the whole duration of the drop-in.
- Please be open to meeting new people to increase belonging, build community and reduce social isolation.
- All Adult 55+ Drop-In programs are recreational and welcoming to all. This means you may be playing with someone who is not at your skill set.
- By participating in the 55+ Adult Drop-in Programs you are agreeing to these expectations.
- The City of Richmond Hill has a zero-tolerance policy with regards to participants being disrespectful or rude towards staff and other participants.
- A membership suspension may result in failure to comply with these expectations.
