• Artists/artist collectives should be committed, working at a competent level and viewed as such by their peers.
• Host site artists should have dedicated studio space. The studio or location must be appropriate for public attendance and have the required display equipment/furniture to properly display the work.
• Artists must present and display their work in a professional manner so it can be readily and easily viewed by the public.
• Host site artists must remain open and be present at all times during Doors Open and Studio Tour, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, May 10, 2025.
• Artists must represent their own original works, created by the artist themselves, including but not limited to the following: painting, photography, drawing, sculpture, pottery, blown glass, carving, fibre/textile art, printmaking, collage, glass, weaving, and jewelry.

• Quality of the artistic work (original work only)
• Geographical location (sites located within the boundaries of Richmond Hill)
• Ease of access to the studio (accessible to the public)

The City of Richmond Hill will be responsible for:

• Administration/logistics
• Production and distribution of promotional materials (artists’ distribution is encouraged)
• Production and maintenance of website and social media promotion with artists’ content

Artists are responsible for:

 Prior to Tour:

• Application and support material provided to the City of Richmond Hill on time, along with complete fees
• Ensuring adequate liability insurance for the host site artist’s studio.
• Promotion of the Tour through artist’s contacts, databases, affiliated organizations, social media, website, etc.
• Posting any on-site signage provided by the City at their site

 Day of the Tour:

• Ensuring studio space is safe and prepared to welcome visitors, as well as guest artists (if applicable)
• Maintaining open studios and being available to the public throughout the Studio Tour hours indicated
• Keeping and reporting visitor statistics to the City of Richmond Hill
• Offering free demonstrations to the public during the Tour (if applicable)
