UPDATE

The 2020 Art and Studio Tour has been cancelled. We look forward to returning in 2021.

The Richmond Hill Art and Studio Tour is our main art event of the year. Professional and emerging artists open their studios or exhibit at local community spaces to showcase their work. We promote the Art and Studio Tour to residents, businesses and art enthusiasts in Richmond Hill and the Greater Toronto Area.

This free, self-guided tour attracts hundreds of visitors to the Tour sites to meet the artists, learn about their creative process and share their works of art. Artists are also encouraged to participate at other City events, increasing their exposure to the community. The Richmond Hill Art and Studio Tour continues to showcase some of the most impressive art in Canada!

You can still connect with the artists!

Meet the 2020 artists, learn about their story and enjoy their artwork. Contact them for more information.

Studio Tour FAQ's

Do I have to visit all of the sites?

You can visit any of the sites that you are interested in.

What can I expect at an artist's Studio?

Each artist will set up their studio and exhibit differently. Along with their display of artwork, you may be able to see their process for creating their artwork and any special tools or equipment that is used. You will have the chance to speak to the artist and ask questions.

Are all sites wheelchair accessible?

Not all. Most of the community centre spaces are wheelchair accessible. Check the brochure for sites that are marked with the accessibility sign. Please note: Richland Academy is wheelchair accessible; the symbol was missed in the brochure. Individual artist sites may not be accessible.

Is there parking at each site?

Yes, but at some sites there may be other activities taking place and parking may not be directly near the building.  Street parking is available in residential areas. Please pay attention to the parking signs on the streets.

What if I see a piece of art that I like? Can I contact the artist after the Tour?

Yes, the contact information for the artists is included in the brochure. You can contact the artist after to Tour if you are interested in purchasing a piece of art. They may also have a website that lists any upcoming shows they are participating in. Artist websites are listed in the brochure.
