For 16 years, the City of Richmond Hill has offered the Studio Tour as part of its commitment to the arts, culture and support of local artists. In 2022, the Studio Tour will again be replaced with a 1-day outdoor art show. This Art Walk show is an excellent opportunity for local artists and artisans to showcase and sell their work at one locations in downtown Richmond Hill.

Application Fee: $60 payable at the time of registration. Fee will be refunded if artist is not selected for the event.
Deadline to apply is Wednesday April 20, 2022.
All applicants will be notified of the results of their application by May 25, 2022.
The Richmond Hill Art Walk is a juried event. The show will include artists working in a variety of disciplines.

All applicants must submit 8 high quality jpegs of their recent work, per each category applying for. For example if applying for pottery and jewelry, we require 8 images of each. These images to be reviewed for the selection process and included in the promotional materials. These jpegs can be submitted via drop box or another file sharing app and sent to community@richmondhill.ca, ( files cannot exceed 10MB).
The Art Walk will go ahead, rain or shine. This is an outdoor show.

What can I expect at the site? Each artist will set up their exhibit in a 10' x 10' outdoor space. Along with their display of artwork, you may be able to see their process for creating their artwork and any special tools or equipment that is used. You will have the chance to speak to the artist and ask questions. Artists will have their work available for sale at the event. Are all sites wheelchair accessible? Yes. Spaces are outdoor plaza and a paved surface at the RHCPA. Is there parking at each site? Yes, there is parking at the Richmond Hill Centre for the Performing Arts What if it rains? This is an outdoor event and artists and visitors should be prepared for inclement weather. The event will go ahead rain or shine Are there special protocols due to the COVID-19 pandemic? The show will be operated following the provincial guidelines and requirements at the time of the show. Physical distancing, masking and hand sanitization protocols will be in place as required. Visitors will be asked to sign in for contact tracing and wear masks will visiting the artists booths. Hand sanitizer will be available at all locations. What if I see a piece of art that I like? Can I contact the artist after the Art Walk? Yes, the contact information for the artists is included on the webpage. You can contact the artist after to Art Walk if you are interested in purchasing a piece of art. They may also have a website that lists any upcoming shows they are participating in. Artist websites are listed in the brochure. |
