Educating Students for a Virtual Future
Each year, Richmond Hill awards the William F. Bell Young Entrepreneur Award to a young business person. This year’s recipient, David Gu, launched Learn VR, a virtual reality (VR) course to help others develop a passion for virtual reality. Council appointed citizen members to the Civic Precinct Project Steering Committee and the David Dunlap Observatory (DDO) Park Project Steering Committee. From the September 11, 2017 meetingRichmond Hill Donates $50,000 to Support AccessibilityCouncil approved a grant request from the Richmond Hill Mobility Accessibility Foundation in the amount of $50,000 to support mobility initiatives in Richmond Hill. The grant is funded from the Disabled Parking Reserve, which was established in December 2004, and is funded from 50 per cent of the revenue from disabled parking offences. RICHMOND HILL – The Richmond Hill Sports Hall of Fame released the names of the seven new inductees: former Olympian and current director of the York Region Skating Academy, Tracey Wainman (Figure Skating), Mary Anne Palmer (SloPitch/Softball), Jamie Joslin (Ice Hockey), Scott Mabley (Ice Hockey), Peter Pendli (Soccer), Gianni Facchini (Soccer) and Bill Woloski (Power Skating & Ice Hockey).
