NEW Fitness Centre Guidelines during COVID-19 Pandemic - Currently closed 

Things you need to know:

  • Memberships will not be active during this time. There will be a $5.00 drop in fee per visit payable online only.
  • Workout times are limited to one hour and must be pre-booked online.
  • You will be required to line up in the designated area outside at the front entrance 5-10 minutes prior to your scheduled workout time. Arrive on time as access to the facility will be restricted to before and after each scheduled time slot.
  • Changerooms and showers will not be available, come ready to train. 
  • Bring a water bottle full of water with you, water fountains will not be available for use.
  • Limit personal belongings as you will be required to have them with you at all times during your workout.
  • As of July 22, pay parking will be in effect each year from April 1 to September 30 at Oak Ridges Community Centre. Parking will cost $4 per hour at the community centre and the north gravel lots. It will cost $5 per hour at the splash pad lot. All  vehicles will require a valid permit while parked within the four parking lots. Richmond Hill residents can obtain a free permit in our Parking and By-law Portal.

What to expect:

  • All users are required to use the provided hand sanitizer and wear a mask while in the facility. Masks may be taken off during your workout, however they must be worn while walking between equipment.
  • You will be greeted by a staff member who will verify your online reservation.
  • You will be asked to complete a self-assessment of COVID-19 symptoms. 
  • Do not enter the facility if you feel unwell.
  • There will be directional markers/signage to guide you.
  • Fitness users must clean all machines/equipment before and after each use. Cleaning products will be provided.
  • Physical distancing is required while in the fitness centre, as a courtesy leave one piece of equipment between you and another users.

FitPass Membership

For your convenience, a new monthly, auto-renewing FitPass for adults and seniors is now available for purchase. The FitPass monthly membership is $30 +HST for adults and $21 +HST for seniors. While fitness centres are currently closed, Pools will remain open and you can still reserve swim times using your FitPass.

Frequently Asked Questions

What access do I have with my FitPass?
Your FitPass will give you access to reserve your spot for any fitness studio, aerobics class, aquafit class or swim reservation at no extra charge.

How do I pay for my FitPass?
Payment for your FitPass will be automatically taken from either your credit card or bank account on the 1st of each month. If your scheduled payment is rejected by your credit card or by the bank, a $45 NSF Fee will be automatically applied to your customer account.

Can I pay cash for my FitPass?
No, all payments must be made by credit card or by Electronic Funds Transfer (Directly from bank account).

Can I cancel my existing membership and apply the remaining balance to this new pass?
Yes, please contact us at recreation@richmondhill.ca to process this transfer.

Can I put a credit on my account with ActiveNet to use towards my monthly payments?
No, you cannot use a credit from your account towards your monthly payments.

Will my pass expire?
No, your pass will be valid until the day you cancel or if your scheduled payment is rejected by your credit card or by the bank. If your scheduled payment is rejected, you will be required to make payment and provide a new method of payment to reinstate your membership.

I am going away on vacation, can I suspend my pass?
The FitPass will not be suspended. If you know you will be on vacation or will be unable to participate for a long period of time, cancel your pass before the next scheduled payment date. Once you return, you can purchase the FitPass again.

How do I cancel my FitPass?
Fill out a Withdrawal Request Form and submit it to the reception staff.

Is there a fee to cancel my FitPass?
No, there is no fee to cancel your pass. Once you submit your Withdrawal Request Form, your next month’s payment and all future month payments will be cancelled. Your pass will be valid until your next scheduled payment scheduled date (1st of the month).

Can I get a refund for unused time on my pass?
No, no refund will be given for time on passes that were not used or cancelled.

Can I buy my FitPass and set up my automated payments online?
Yes, you can buy a membership and set up automated payments online at RichmondHill.ca/ActiveRH.

Can I transfer my FitPass to someone else?
No, your pass cannot be transferred to or shared with someone else.
