April is Earth Month, a time to celebrate our natural environment and come together to protect it. We've got fun, interactive eco-themed events and initiatives for the whole family!
| April 16 - Healthy Yards Plant & Garden Sale Begins | ||||||
| Create a beautiful, eco-friendly garden at a low cost! Starting April 16, Richmond Hill residents can pre-order native trees, shrubs, perennial wildflower kits, rain barrels and/or composters. The online sale runs until May 19 or while supplies last. Visit the Healthy Yards page for more information. |

| April 17 - Fantastic Fish Workshop & Guided Walk (free) | ||||||

Dive into the hidden world beneath the surface of Lake Wilcox! Join us for a family‑friendly guided walk as we explore the fascinating fish species that call Lake Wilcox—and the rest of southern Ontario—home. Early spring offers a unique glimpse into this freshwater ecosystem as we explore which species are active and how to identify them. Celebrate Earth Day with hands-on fun for the whole family! Enjoy free eco-friendly workshops (details below), e-bike & e-scooter rides, kids arts & crafts, Little Fingers Live Music with Charlie and Farisya, games, prizes & more! While you’re there, give back to the community by supporting our food drive for the Richmond Hill Food Bank. Bring non-perishable items to help local families in need and be part of a day dedicated to sustainability, care and compassion. Together, small actions can make a big impact! | April 20 - Clean Up, Green Up Weeks Begins (free) | ||||||
| Everyone is invited to help give Richmond Hill a spring cleaning! From April 20 to May 4, residents, businesses, community groups and schools are encouraged to come together to help pick up litter that has accumulated over the winter months in parks, trails, on boulevards and in open spaces.
