Richmond Hill is happy to have a wide variety of programs and activities to offer all ages, including preschool, children and teens. It is also recognized by Play Works as a Youth Friendly Community.

We offer many programs that require registration. You can view them all and sort by age, location and more by visiting our Registered Recreation Programs page.

Winter Programs

Winter programs registration is now open! Browse programs and register today!

If you register for a Winter program between Wednesday, November 29 and Wednesday, December 13, you could win $100 on your ActiveRH account. You can learn more about how to view programs and create a wish list by visiting our Registered Recreation Programs page.

Preschool schedules

Important Information - Children must be toilet-trained or in pull-up diapers. If child is in pull-up diapers, the parent or caregiver must stay in the building during the class. When attending an adult participation program, babies must be in a sling or snuggly, allowing free hands to participate with the older child.

Elgin West Community Centre and Pool - September 15 to December 22

Halloween Howl

Date: Friday, October 27

Time: 6 - 8:30 p.m.

Location: Richvale Community Centre

Grades 6 to 8, join us for a night of games, music, mad science, escape room and much more! Prizes will be awarded for best costume. Tickets are $5 and are available for purchase at any Richmond Hill Community Centre and will also be available at the door.

Teen Membership

Teen memberships are available to purchase for residents. This membership is valid for the entire school calendar year, from September 1, 2023 - June 30, 2024. The membership allows teens to participate in teen drop-in programs at no additional charge.

Without a membership, teen program drop-ins are $4 each visit. Teens can pre-register for the drop-in programs, or pay at the door if space is available.

There are a number of fitness opportunities in Richmond Hill to help teens meet their goals for a healthy and active lifestyle. You can learn more about all fitness and other memberships, and programs we offer by visiting our Memberships page.

Aquatic Leadership programs
Our Aquatic Leadership programs give you the chance to improve your swimming skills or become a lifeguard, swimming instructor or lifesaving instructor. Richmond Hill's programs will help you reach your goals and maintain your certification.
