Spring Swimming Lessons 

Registration for spring swimming lessons is now open. Please review our new guidelines for swimming lessons during the COVID-19 Pandemic before registering.

Guidelines

NEW COVID-19 Swimming Lesson Guidelines
Things you need to know when attending swimming lessons: 
  • Do not enter the facility if you feel unwell.

  • Lockers and showers will be available.

  • Swim times are limited to 1 hour and can be pre-booked online. Limited walk-in spots will be available.

What to expect at the pool: 

  • Arrive 5 - 10 minutes prior to your swim time.

  • Swim on top of the lane marker and in a counter clockwise direction.

  • Swim continuously. All swimmers must exit the changeroom within 15 minutes of their swim end time.

  • It is recommended to shower at home after your swim, not in the changeroom.

  • Changeroom and pool deck touch points will be sanitized frequently.

Richmond Hill has a wide variety of swimming programs for people of all ages, including the Lifesaving and Leadership program. You can learn the basics or improve current skills. Our programs include:

  • Parent and Tot Lessons (3 months to 24 months old)
  • Preschool Lessons (3 to 5 years old)
  • Swimmer Lessons (5 to12 years old)
  • Private and Semi-Private Lessons - not currently offered 
  • School Year Swimming Lessons (Wave Pool only) - not currently offered 
  • Rookie, Ranger and Star Patrol
  • Family Swim Lessons - not currently offered 
  • Pool Play (Children, Teens and Adults) - not currently offered 

How to register

Registering for programs has never been easier with our new recreation registration system ActiveRH.

Step 1

Create your personalized ActiveRH account.

Step 2

Find your programs and create a wish list of your top choices.

Step 3

Login to ActiveRH on registration day, register for your selected programs and check out.

Adapted aquatics

Adapted aquatic  programs are not currently offered. Call the Program Coordinator Inclusion Services at 905-747-6369 before registering for a swimming program if you have a disability or special need. We will speak with you about your individual needs and the type of support we can offer.

Swimmers with special needs who would feel more comfortable in a one-on-one setting can register for private swimming lessons, when they are available. Private lessons are not currently offered.

Richmond Hill offers additional specialized swimming programs, including:

  • Richmond Hill Lifesaving Club (RHLC) - not currently offered
  • Fitness Swimmer  - not currently offered
  • Swimmer Teen (12 to18 years old)  
  • Swimmer Teen - Girls Only (12 to 18 years old) - not currently offered
  • Adult Swimming Lessons Co-Ed (16 years of age and older)
  • Adult Swimming Lessons for Men and Women (16 years of age and older)  - not currently offered
  • Masters
  • Aquatic Leadership
