
Municipal Business Innovation Contest
City of Richmond Hill is excited to launch the Municipal Business Innovation Contest! We are looking for Richmond Hill companies to submit ideas on technologies/products/services that solve civic challenges, help the municipality be more innovative and find cost effective ways to do business.
Respondents are asked to submit their proposal to city hall by 2 p.m. on Thursday, October 8, 2020. The instruction is outlined in the 'Request for Expression of Interest' document you will receive via email.
Details
The Municipal Business Innovation Contest will be a collaboration between a Richmond Hill based company and the municipality. The proposed solutions will help to solve civic challenges. This is an opportunity for participants to demonstrate their solutions in a municipal setting.
The submissions will be reviewed by an evaluation committee. The selected respondent will complete the implementation of their idea as a pilot program with the City of Richmond Hill, within 12 months of being chosen as the selected respondent. The selected respondent will receive up to $10,000 towards the cost of implementation. (The City reserves the right to select two projects and to provide up to $5,000 to each selected respondent towards the cost of implementing their solutions.)
The selected project will:
- Increase the capacity for the City to respond to pressing municipal challenges
- Enable the City to be an early adopter of innovative technologies, products, and services and
- Create opportunities for local businesses to partner with the City in developing innovative solutions to municipal challenges
