Terms and Conditions for Use of a Temporary Parking Permit
- A vehicle with a valid 24-hour Temporary Parking Permit properly displayed is exempt from parking duration limits only (three hour limit and overnight parking restriction). All other parking regulations of the City's Municipal Code Chapter 1116 and all provisions of the Highway Traffic Act must be complied with.
- Vehicles with 24-hour Temporary Parking Permits shall not be parked on a side of the street abutting properties with even numbered addresses.
- 24-hour Temporary Parking Permits are valid from 7 a.m. on the date of issuance until 6:59 a.m. the following day.
- 24-hour Temporary Parking Permits are non-refundable and are non-transferable.
- 24-hour Temporary Parking Permits will become null and void when snow removal operations are in effect. As such, it is the permit holder's responsibility to check the weather forecast and status of snow removal operations. During this period, selected City-owned parking lots would be available to permit holders who cannot arrange alternative off-street parking on a first-come, first-served basis. The Temporary Parking Permit must be displayed while the vehicle is parked in any of these selected City-owned lots. Alternative parking lot locations can be found here.
- Whenever a motor vehicle is parked in accordance with a 24-hour Temporary Parking Permit issued under the terms and conditions, the permit shall be displayed on the dash in plain view and not be obstructed in any way.
- Despite having a Temporary Parking Permit for the road, no person shall park a motor vehicle continuously in any place for a period exceeding twenty-five consecutive days.
- Temporary Parking Permits may be revoked or cancelled when it is necessary to ensure public safety, when it was obtained through the submission of false, misleading or fraudulent information, or when the vehicle in respect of which the permit was issued has an expired validation sticker.
