Richmond Hill supports local community groups in a variety of ways.
| Volunteer Recruitment |
| If your not-for-profit organization is looking for volunteers you can submit a request through the Richmond Hill Volunteer database. Complete and submit the Volunteer Request Form. Staff will send the request will be sent out to the volunteers in the City’s database and the volunteers will contact you directly.
We welcome your feedback about your experience with using this service to recruit volunteers. Complete the post event questionnaire included in the Volunteer Request Form. |

| Financial Support |

The Community and Cultural Grant Program supports a more vibrant Richmond Hill by providing project funding to community and cultural organizations and individual artists. Information about the program and the application form can be found here. An information session about the Community and Cultural Grant Program is scheduled for September 25, 2018, 7 p.m. at the Elgin West Community Centre. The deadline for applications is November 2, 2018, 4 p.m.
There is also financial support for participants of community group programs or activities who need help paying for registration fees or equipment. Learn about our fee assistance programs. |

Community Group Affiliation Policy |

Richmond Hill has a Community Group Affiliation Policy. This Policy applies to not-for-profit groups interested in working with us to offer residents a variety of recreational, art, cultural, social and sports programs. The Recreation and Culture Division of the Community Services department offers support to these volunteer-based, affiliated community groups through fair and balanced sharing of facilities and resources. | Workshops and Training Sessions |
| Richmond Hill has training sessions and workshops that offer support for community groups in the area. We review the needs of not-for-profit organizations and other community groups to decide which topics to cover. Some of the topics we have covered include networking, fundraising, volunteer recruitment and retention, grant writing and business planning. Email us your ideas for training and workshop topics.

| Program Partnership Opportunity |
| The Recreation and Culture Division may partner with local service providers to offer recreational programs. If you have a program idea or would like to partner with Richmond Hill to deliver a program, please contact the Community Development Coordinator at the contact below. |
| Smart Serve |
|
Smart Serve is a program focused on responsible alcohol beverage service. Smart Serve training is available for individuals or groups. An organizer from Smart Serve Ontario leads the training sessions. Smart Serve Ontario is a division of the Hospitality Industry Training Organization of Ontario (HITOO) and is a non-profit organization focused on providing alcohol service training to all individuals who serve alcoholic beverages or work where these beverages are sold in Ontario.
