Just as it takes all of us to make a difference in the fight against COVID-19, it takes awareness and effort from all of us to end racism and intolerance.
The pandemic has been a test of our personal and community resilience, as well as our patience. And although it has caused anxiety and stress for all of us, there is no excuse for racism or acts of intolerance in our community.

RICHMOND HILL – Richmond Hill Council has appointed Charles A. Harnick Q.C., of ADR Chambers Inc., as its new Integrity Commissioner effective May 12, 2021.
The Integrity Commissioner's duties include providing impartial, third party, professional advice to Council and responding to any compliance issues and matters relating to their ethical responsibilities and obligations under the Council Code of Conduct.

I’m saddened by the passing of former Richmond Hill Regional Councillor Lois Hancey on May 2, 2021.
Lois Hancey was first elected Ward Councillor in 1964, serving until 1978. She returned to Council as Regional Councillor from 1981 to 1991 and also served more than two decades on the Toronto and Region Conservation Authority. She is our longest serving female Councillor at 26 years.

RICHMOND HILL – Last Friday, the Ontario government extended the province-wide stay-at-home order by two weeks until May 20 and announced further public health measures to help stop the spread of COVID-19 and relieve mounting pressures on the health care system.
