RICHMOND HILL – On Thursday, September 30, all City of Richmond Hill facilities will be closed for the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation to honour survivors, their families and Indigenous communities, and to raise awareness about the legacy of residential schools in Canada.

What’s closed on September 30?
Municipal offices, community centres and Richmond Hill Public Library branches will be closed September 30 along with the Access Richmond Hill contact centre. General inquiries can be submitted using our online portal.

Payments for a water or tax bill can be placed in the drop-off box 24 hours a day, seven days a week, inside the lobby doors at our Municipal Offices. Please do not place cash payments in the boxes. Alternatively, payments can be made through your bank's ATM or online banking service.

Waste collection for the day remains the same.

To report emergency situations such as flooding, watermain breaks, blocked sewers or downed trees please call the Operations Centre at 905-884-8013.

You’re Invited – Virtual Fundraising Event
Richmond Hill residents are invited to participate in a virtual fundraising event featuring guest speaker and residential school survivor Dawn Hill. Gain a deeper understanding of the personal impact of the residential school system through Ms. Hill’s first-hand story.

When: Thursday, September 30 from 10 a.m. – noon
Where: Virtual (Zoom)
Tickets: $10 – All proceeds go to Mohawk Village Memorial Park
