Richmond Hill is proud to support local community and cultural organizations whose initiatives enhance the quality of life and cultural vibrancy of residents. To further this type of work within the Town, Council approved funding for 19 project applications under the Community and Cultural Grant Program (CCG). The CCG Program provides project funding to community and cultural organizations, as well as individual artists, whose programs, services and/or activities enhance Richmond Hill. Within the program’s two funding streams (community organizations and cultural sector), the maximum grant per project is 50 per cent of the project budget up to a maximum of $5,000. This year’s grant recipients were evaluated and awarded based on criteria outlined in the Program’s guidelines and include: Alliance Veterans Alliance – Les Amis; Autism Ontario York Region; Big Brothers and Big Sisters of York; Richmond Hill Lawn Bowling Club; York Region Senior Tamils’ Centre; Domini Mancuso; Jessic Tse; Josephine Vaccaro-Chang; Oleg Samokhin; Sean Cisterna; Shaan Taseer; Sue Foerster; CREATE; High Notes Avante Productions; Opera York; Richmond Hill Centennial Pipe Band; Richmond Hill Concert Band; Richmond Hill Group of Artists; and Shadowpath Theatre Productions. The Community and Cultural Grant Program replaced the Mayor’s Endowment Fund for the Arts and Community Grants Program as outlined in Richmond Hill’s Cultural Plan.
