David Dunlap Observatory Park Master Plan Development Set to Begin This Spring
Council endorsed the David Dunlap Observatory (DDO) Park Master Plan process, which will include extensive public consultation. The Master Plan will establish a vision and strategic direction to guide the future enhancement, management and programming of more than 110 acres of land on the DDO property. It will strive for a balance between recreational and educational use of the lands, while also protecting the property's significant natural and cultural heritage attributes. It is envisioned that the David Dunlap Observatory Park will be a ‘Destination Park’, drawing visitors from Richmond Hill and throughout the GTA. Public consultation is expected to begin in June.
