Richmond Hill Appoints Citizens To Local Committees
Council appointed citizen members to the Civic Precinct Project Steering Committee and the David Dunlap Observatory (DDO) Park Project Steering Committee. The Civic Precinct Project has been a community engagement and corporate planning initiative designed to explore what the community wants on the Town-owned lands at the southwest corner of Yonge Street and Major Mackenzie Drive. The DDO Park Master Plan has been developed and the project steering committee will make recommendations to Council on the implementation of the Master Plan’s vision through the planning, design development and construction of the DDO Park. These appointments are unique opportunities for the community to participate at the local government level. Many citizens came forward in support of helping to build and strengthen the community, each offering their time and energy by becoming part of the decision-making process. Selected members will soon be notified of their appointment. For more information, contact Stephen Huycke, Director, Legislative Services/Town Clerk at 905-771-2529.
The next Committee of the Whole Meeting is scheduled for Monday, October 2 at 4:30 p.m. and the next Council Meeting is Tuesday, October 10 at 7:30 p.m. Both meetings will be held in Council Chambers.
