Join us for Richmond Hill’s Doors Open and Studio Tour Together on May 11
RICHMOND HILL – Celebrate Richmond Hill’s heritage, architecture, arts and culture that makes the city vibrant at two events this Saturday, May 11.
Doors Open Richmond Hill from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
As part of the province-wide celebration of community heritage, Richmond Hill will be once again participating in the Doors Open program to provide residents and visitors with the unique opportunity to explore and enjoy interesting places and spaces. Ten sites across the city are taking part in this year’s tour, including returning favourites St. Mary and St. Joseph Coptic Church, The Richmond Hill Heritage Centre and The City’s Artifact Collection Facility. Welcoming visitors for the first time is Circling Hawk Honey and Mead, Richmond Hill’s only commercial meadery.
The Richmond Hill Business Improvement Area (BIA) joins us this year to welcome Doors Open visitors to explore restaurants, cafés and bars in the Village of Richmond Hill. The BIA is the voice of the business community in the historical heart of Richmond Hill. Visitors can also explore participating sites located along the streets of Old Richmond Hill – characterized by Richmond Hill’s churches that have dominated the Yonge Street skyline since the late 1800s:
- St. Mary’s Anglican Church
- Richmond Hill Presbyterian Church
- Richmond Hill United Church
- Richmond Hill Heritage Centre (Amos Wright House)
- Richmond Hill Sports Hall of Fame
Parking is available at Elgin Barrow Area (43 Church Street South, Richmond Hill, ON L4C 1W1).
This free event is part of Doors Open Ontario, launched in 2002 by the Ontario Heritage Trust. For the complete list of open properties and more information, visit RichmondHill.ca/DoorsOpen.
