Help Make a Difference this Holiday Season
Give to the Richmond Hill 2024 Holiday Donation Drive – December 1-15
RICHMOND HILL – Make the holidays brighter for someone in our community this holiday season by donating to Richmond Hill’s annual Holiday Donation Drive. The need is greater than ever this year. Monthly visits to Canada’s food banks are over two million[i] – the highest in history – and close to 23% of Canadians[ii] now live in food-insecure households.
From December 1-15, help support the community by dropping off non-perishable food items, new toys (no stuffed animals, please), books, toiletries and new clothing for children and teenagers to any of Richmond Hill’s Fire Stations.
Most urgently needed items (as of November 2024) include:
- Boxed cereal
- Pasta
- Canned and baked beans
- 1 litre juices
- Soups and canned vegetables
- Baking items (such as cake mixes, muffin mixes, jello powder)
- Condiments (such as mustard, ketchup, relish, pickles, olives and barbecue sauce)
- Size 5 and 6 baby diapers
When making a donation, please ensure items are within the best before period, have not expired and have not been opened.
Food donations go directly to the Richmond Hill Food Bank, a local non-profit organization assisting those in need in our community. The Salvation Army, Yellow Brick House, and York Hills Centre for Children, Youth and Families receive all toys, toiletries, clothing and other non-food items collected.
Working together, we can make a difference for those in need in our community. For more information, visit RichmondHill.ca/DonationDrive.
