June is Seniors Month in Richmond Hill
Free barbecue, live music and more fun events for residents 55+
RICHMOND HILL – June is Seniors Month and the City of Richmond Hill is celebrating the many contributions seniors make to our community with a lineup of special events and activities.
Residents aged 55+ are invited to join us throughout the month to connect with friends, enjoy live entertainment and take part in a variety of fun events across the city.
What’s Happening:
- 55+ Barbecue (Friday, June 5 | 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m., Mill Pond Park):
Kicking off the celebrations is our popular annual event with a free lunch and entertainment in a beautiful outdoor setting. At 12 p.m., the City will recognize Sally Hossain, recipient of the Senior of the Year Award, presented by Regional Councillor Joe DiPaola. - 55+ Spring Choir Concert (Sunday, June 7 | 2 p.m., McConaghy Centre):
Enjoy an uplifting afternoon of music performed by the 55+ Spring Choir. Registration required. Fee: $5 ($6 at the door). - 55+ Lunch Program Bingo (Thursday, June 11 | 12:30 – 4 p.m., McConaghy Centre):
Take part in lunch and an afternoon of bingo and friendly competition. Registration required. Fee: $10. - 55+ Ice Cream Social (Wednesday, June 17 | 1 p.m., Oak Ridges Community Centre):
Join us for ice cream and live music at this relaxed afternoon event. Registration required. Space is limited.
