Richmond Hill – This Remembrance Day, let us take the time to pay our deepest respect and heartfelt gratitude to the brave men and women who served and continue to serve our nation with unwavering dedication.  

Richmond Hill is proud to partner, once again, with our Royal Canadian Legion – Branch 375 to commemorate Remembrance Day locally. We invite the community to join us for the parade and ceremony on Saturday, November 11. The parade will form at 10 a.m. at the northwest corner of Yonge and Wright Streets and proceed south on Yonge Street starting at 10:30 a.m., ending at the Cenotaph. At 10:45 a.m., the Ceremony of Remembrance will commence at the Cenotaph.

Flags will be lowered to half-mast at all Richmond Hill facilities for Remembrance Day. 

As we gather in our homes or at memorial services, let us use this time to recall the stories of courage and honour those who carried the torch of freedom and peace. And let us use this day to ensure the sacrifices that were made before us were not in vain, and foster a world where conflict can be resolved through dialogue and understanding. On this Remembrance Day, I ask all residents to stand united, not just to honour the past but also towards building a better future.

Thank you to our veterans for their service. May we never forget the sacrifice of those that served our nation.
