Notice of Commencement: Humber Flats Stormwater Management Facility Environmental Assessment
The City of Richmond Hill is undertaking the Humber Flats Stormwater Management Facility (SWMF 1-4) Environmental Assessment (“Study”) to determine the best means of rehabilitating the Humber Flats Stormwater Management Facility.
The study area is shown on the map. The facility is part of the tributary to the East Humber River. The study will evaluate a range of alternatives to determine the best solutions to improve the hydraulic conditions of the area and reduce the number of residential properties in the regional floodplain by reducing the extents of the floodplain while maintaining the stormwater management function of the facility.
The study is being conducted in accordance with Schedule B of the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment process.
To facilitate community input, a Public Open House is scheduled to be held in spring 2023. The notice of the open house will be mailed to homes in the nearby neighbourhood and information will also be available at RichmondHill.ca/HumberFlatsEA.
Should you have any questions or comments, require further information, or wish to be added to the study mailing list for future updates, please contact one of the Study Team members:
