Notice of Construction: Don Head East Valleyland Rehabilitation
The City of Richmond Hill has retained the Toronto and Region Conservation Authority (TRCA) to conduct the Don Head East Valleyland Rehabilitation project, located along the Upper East Don River between Kersey Crescent and May Avenue. Construction of erosion protection infrastructure is needed to protect an on-line stormwater pond and sanitary sewer, as well as the adjacent valleyland trail. The study area is shown on the included map.
Construction is scheduled to take place between end of June and October 2026. For the safety of the residents, the trail connection highlighted in red on the map will be closed to pedestrians. While the construction is taking place, there may be some dust and noise from the use of the equipment. Prior to construction, some preparatory activities will take place, such as archaeological assessment test pits and utility locates.
