Take notice that at their meeting on April 22, 2026, the Council of the Corporation of the City of Richmond Hill (“Council”) refused the application to demolish the William H. Legge House, which is designated under part IV of the Ontario Heritage Act, R.S.O. 1990,c.0.18.
Notice of Appeal:
The owner may appeal Council’s decision to the Ontario Land Tribunal and the Clerk of the City of Richmond Hill within 30 days after receiving this notice of Council’s decision.
The Notice of Appeal must:
- set out the reasons for the objection to Council's decision;
- set out the reasons in support of the objection to Council’s decision;
- be accompanied by the fee prescribed under the Ontario Land Tribunal Act in the amount of $1,100.00 payable by certified cheque or money order in Canadian funds to the Minister of Finance, Province of Ontario; and
- be accompanied by the processing fee prescribed under the Tariff of Fees By-law in the amount of $358.00 payable by certified cheque or money order in Canadian funds to the City of Richmond Hill. Certified cheques are not required when the cheque is from a law firm.
The Notice of Appeal must be filed with both:
- the Tribunal. Information regarding how to file with the Tribunal can be obtained on its website at https://olt.gov.on.ca; and
- the Clerk of the City of Richmond Hill either by email to clerks@richmondhill.ca or by delivery personally to the City Clerk or by Regular Mail at the following address:
